Flashback to our California days, Chris and I would go to one of the many farmers markets in the Bay Area, get heirloom tomatoes from Happy Boy Farms, walnut rolls from the bakery (forgot the name, maybe bay bread?), and an avocado from another farmer. We would sit under the trees tasting the tomatoes and making sandwiches, what flavors! Heirlooms will always have a special place in my heart.
Heirloom tomatoes will change anyone’s idea of tomatoes. The sweet and varied flavors, every bite is a treat. Here is a fun way to enjoy these little bites of heaven.
Vegan Cheese – Follow Your Heart Mozzarella
Italian Seasoning Mix
Pea Sprouts (or basil, parsley, etc…)
Slice the tomatoes and cheese in bite sizes. Lay down a cracker and layer with “cheese”, tomato & 1 sprout. Sprinkle with a tiny pinch of sea salt and seasoning.
